Morning,
I've have just moved from Mac to Windows and now having got rid of MAc, found all my video files imported via iMovie cannot be played or edited on my Windows machine, due to the Apple Intermediate Codec.
From browsing these forums I've got Avanti and ffmpeg working to some degree, in that I can convert the file but at a huge loss of quality.
Please could someone simply let me know what settings to use in Avanti to preserve the quality and allow me to view/edit the files from Windows?
I am using Adobe Premiere Elements to edit the videos.
Many thanks,
Greg

Same raster size and framerate as the original and a higher bitrate. For editing you may want to go to something large and lossless like lagarith.
But I'm amazed you can read an AIC file on a PC at all. I've never gotten that to work. Well done.
