  1. Hi - I am new to the world of recording live streams and would appreciate some help in attempting to record live streams from www.rte.ie/live

I've analyzed the HTTP traffic and it seems that the client browser invokes 4 .f4m files as follows:
    http://livehds.rasset.ie/hds-live/_definst_/rte2/rte2_288p.f4m
    http://livehds.rasset.ie/hds-live/_definst_/rte2/rte2_360p.f4m
    http://livehds.rasset.ie/hds-live/_definst_/rte2/rte2_540p.f4m
    http://livehds.rasset.ie/hds-live/_definst_/rte2/rte2_720p.f4m

I can use AdobeHDS to create an .flv file against one of these manifests. However, when I do so, the script terminates after a few minutes.
The reason, as far as I can tell, is because when the browser is streaming it seems to alternate between the above 4 manifests. Whereas AdobeHDS is only downloading from one.

Even if I move away from AdobeHDS and try to use the temp files downloaded from Chrome, I still cannot manage to play these files. The trid application identifies the temporary files as .swf but when I attempt to play them then using Adobe Flash Player it fails.

Has anyone attempted to record from similar sites before, and if so, how?

    Thanks!

  2. Code:
    php AdobeHDS.php --manifest "http://livehds.rasset.ie/
    hds-live/_definst_/rte2/rte2_720p.f4m"
