  1. Can someone explain me how to add a watermark to a mkv video file without re-encode?

  4. OK. Can I do this while i encode a DVD movie to .mkv format?
    I am using Handbrake 0.9.9 for the encoding.

  5. Yes, but the question is: do you re-encode your DVD to h264 or you only mux it to mkv?

    If you use the first option you can watermark the video using i.e. hard coded subtitles. I don't remember if Handbrake has option to add a picture as watermark to output video.

    If you only mux (change the container from vob to mkv, without re-encoding), then you also can add subtitles. However, in that case they can be removed or replaced by remuxing the mkv file.

    I am using Handbrake to make a DVDRip. Like the scene groups. Handbrake can't hard code subtitles :/
