  1. Hey Guys,

I have used the program Mkv2Mp4 twice to convert 2 different movies and both times the audio has been out of sync with the video, once by milli-seconds and the second time by at least 3-4 seconds. I am converting these movies to mp4 so as to be able to watch them on my LED TV via USB, so just correcting the sync issues on a temporary basis in VLC Player is not a solution for me. The main problem with my TV is that it does not support Mkv files that have an ac3 audio track, but an Mp4 with an ac3 audio track plays fine.

Is Avidemux a better option for me? Or mkvtoolnix?

Also a few questions concerning mkvtoolnix. I extracted the audio of an mkv file using Mkvextract and then tried to convert it from ac3 to mp3 using Audacity. But it didn't work. All I got in return for a 360 MB ac3 file was a 56.9 KB mp3. What am I doing wrong? What other tools can I use to make that conversion?

I know that's a lotta questions but if you could give me some answers I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you

Sync issues are almost always a codec/tool issue. Try a different tool.

Handbrake or VidCoder (a GUI for handbrake) can both handle conversions.
