    I have AFAIK disabled IE7 from my PC and am using FIREFOX. Can anyone help me out and help install the latest version of IMGBURN

    The last time we got a weird "I can't download ImgBurn" post, the guy who posted admitted that he wasn't using the official link. Go to the Tools/Software and Downloads section in the left column here and search for ImgBurn and then use one of THOSE links instead. Unfortunately there are a lot of fake ImgBurn links and maybe you got one of those.

    Or just click the red link from either your post or jman98's reply.

    But I wonder. The latest version of the program is riddled with adware which tries to install itself when you install the program. Maybe that part of the installation is looking for specific (or later) versions of IE. You do not disable IE per se but rather choose a default browser. IE is still lurking in the background.

    I still do not see why you could not install it as long as you are carefull with the installation process and choose not to install the adware rather than just blindly say 'yes' to everything.

    Failing that, from the same software link as above, if you do not need the latest version, just install the previous one which is adware-free.

    Lightning UK (ImgBurn's author) did apparently at least change the installation from what it originally was on the latest release so that it's more obvious that you are actually going to install adware and more obvious on how to not install the adware. The original release was strongly criticized for installing adware in a sneaky, reverse logic way, if I remember correctly. Users were asked something like did they not want to install the adware and they had to answer "yes" or they got it.

  5. Firefox and Imgburn have always resided side by side here without problems. Like previous posts, I suspect you have downloaded something masquerading as Imgburn that relies on IE to install something nasty on your system.

  7. Why install? Just use it as portable. No adware, nothing in the registry, all settings in app folder:
    1. Download the installer only from here - http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download (use Mirror 7 - Provided by ImgBurn)
    2. Open installer with 7-Zip (Ctrl+PageDown)
    3. Copy everything except $PLUGINSDIR folder to a directory of your choice
    4. Create a text file in that directory called ImgBurn.ini and paste the follow text:
    Code:
     [Settings]
    PortableMode=1
    FILELOCATIONS_GraphDataFiles=.\Graph Data Files\
    FILELOCATIONS_ImageFiles=.\Image Files\
    FILELOCATIONS_LogFiles=.\Log Files\
    FILELOCATIONS_ProjectFiles=.\Project Files\
    FILELOCATIONS_QueueFiles=.\Queue Files\
    5. Finally, launch ImgBurn.exe
