  1. I have an .m4v file that I'm constantly having a problem with burning using MultAVChd.
It has a frame-rate of 23.976. I use mkvtoolnix to change it to an mkv file, where the frame-rate remains 23.976.
When I try to author and burn to disc using MultiavcHD (which uses tsmuxer), TSmuxer says "Frame Rate: not found" even though Multiavchd still shows 23.976. The resulting file shows a frame-rate of 25fps.

Any ideas? Is there a problem with the header? Is there any way to change that without completely re-encoding?

Here's the info on the initial file:

  2. If it is iTune video stream then no wonder: almost all lack of proper video header, and there is no info on frame rate. TSMuxer as well any BR authoring program will fail with such stream.

So there's no way to fix it without re-authoring?

  4. I didn't find any program that really correct such problem. Suggested were ffmpeg, TSMuxer, and VideoReDo. VideoReDo author wrote me that he is going to make a tool for h264 header correction as there are more and more such faulty streams.

If you want to author the stream, you would need to re-convert it (not re-author). This of course will degrade its quality. I keep mine until a tool is available.

  5. Thanks for the response. I tried those as well as several others. We'll see what happens I guess.
