Hi,
I have plenty MKVs with embedded srts in them.
Normally I would use Solveig's mkv trimmer to extract/ crop out my favorite scenes.
But I would also like to extract out the subtitles as well. I have read that mkvtoolnix does this but its not exactly what i want.
I want software that can also extract the exact subtitle corresponding to any random scene I may wish to extract.
For example, i want to extract time from 25:44 to 30:00. When I have extracted the 4min 16min video, the mkv also has the corresponding subtitle auto-embedded in that mkv.
I don't know if this is impossible, however I have seen short mkv movie samples that had the subtitle auto-embedded.
thanks.

Why can't you use mkvtoolnix / mkvmergegui?

Under the Global tab and Splitting->Split mode choose split by parts based on timecodes, type in 00:25:44-00:30:00 under Parts.
Hit start muxing and you should get that part with subs.

edit: I made a very basic guide: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/359121-How-to-extract-parts-from-a-mkv-including-al...ubtitle-tracksLast edited by Baldrick; 27th Sep 2013 at 07:57.
