Is it possible to edit an EVO without re-encoding or better yet is there a way to extract an MPEG from an EVO?

Mux the VC-1 stream to an MKV file, then open this latter in VirtualDub.

Besides, you'll also need to set ffdshow VfW codec for decoding VC-1.

Create an MKV which contains ONLY the VC-1 stream, of course,
    BECAUSE you yourself had said:

    Touché

More seriously now --- if your goal is to edit two or more (multichannel?) audio tracks, then obviously VirtualDub is not among the recommended tools, unless you help it with Avisynth and the "external encoders" feature

OK so I have an MKV which I extracted with HD-DVD/Blu-Ray Stream Extractor (which is based on eac3to). How do I only extract the VC-1 stream? I don't see that option anywhere.
