I just received a new credit card in the mail and on the front of it above the first 4 numbers appears what looks similar to a phone's sim card and I think this is called smart chip technology. Is it safe? I remember watching some documentary that showed how easy it was for a thief to steal credit card info in cards that have RFID. But I don't think this is an RFID card.. Just trying to figure out if this is indeed more secure, or less??

I dug a bit deeper and learned that these "chip cards" are not the same as the RFID cards which can be easily read. Supposedly, these chip cards are more secure.. I guess time will tell on that one.
