  1. Does anyone still make a VHS/DVD combo player with coaxial input/output connectors on the back? Seems the newer model only have the three color composite connectors. Thanks.

Nobody makes a VHS/DVD player with RF coax out that can transmit picture and sound via channel 3 or 4. If you need coax out for an old TV, buy an RF modulator. http://www.amazon.com/Philips-SWS2103W-17-Moduator-Converter/dp/B001UYUNSE/ref=sr_1_2?...9803444&sr=1-2

  3. I thought as much. I recently purchased a "refurbished" one on eBay and it lasted about two weeks before the DVD player failed. Anyone know how I would find replacement parts for the old combo players I already have? Are there suppliers out there for older Panasonic and Sony parts?

Is there some reason why a RF modulator can't work in your case?

Fixing old VCR-DVD combo players/recorders isn't necessarily possible for amateurs even if they can obtain the parts at a price that isn't ridiculous. Are you already an expert at making repairs to electronics? Can you understand a service manual and are you willing to purchase service remotes and other special tools if needed?

  5. Yeah, I fix computers and laptops. I was fond of a particular Panasonic combo player and bought a lot of them. The DVD units just pop in and out. Trying to find the replacement through Panasonic was a dead end.
