I will try to explain our situation as best I can. When we are in our video location in our football box we run into one little problem. The problem is this. If we set the tripod for our camcorder to have it's legs equal an balanced we run into a situation where the sides of the walls cut into our shots. To counter this we take our tripod and shorten the front two legs and this brings the camcorder and tripod forward so we can now get our camera view into the end zones and have a clear view. The problem with this scenario is it puts our picture at a tilt which is really kind of unprofessional looking. Does anyone know of any kind of mount that would allow control of the camcorder like a regular tripod but would maybe mount to a ceiling or wall or something that we could get the camera out side of the window to get a perfect view? I hope this all makes sense and someone on here can either help or direct me to someone or someplace that would be able to help. Thanks.

If there's a ledge or a sill use a hi hat mounted on a board. Add a sandbag for stability.

I guess I am not sure how that would work as I am not familiar with that type of item. Someone had mentioned to me something that mounted from the top and you could pull down and maneuver around that way. Really, though, I am not sure what I want as I have never used anything other than tripod or monopod.

What kind of camera and tripod are you using now and what kind of windowed box are you standing in? It's hard to make specific suggestions without knowing the actual details.

I am using a Panasonic AG-AC90 camcorder on an older Manfrotto tripod. It is a relatively large and heavy Manfrotto but it has a nice smooth head. We are in a press box that has a large viewing area. We are able to take all the windows out so we can place something extending outside of the box itself if we can. The only problem that we may have is that the window is covered with actually a door that we crank down to view out. When we crank it down the door goes down and when done the door is cranked up and goes back into place. We would not be able to put any permanent fixture to hold anything. It is really hard to explain. Maybe I could get a picture sometime and that may help. Thanks.

Maybe something like this?

And yes, a picture would help a lot. -
Tripods are great for low action sequences, but can be a pain for sports. I made this Shoulder Mount in my garage out of an old trailer hitch 10 years ago and still use it today for sports video shots. It ain't pretty, but it works. It also has a mounting bracket for an umbrella for those rainy day games.
In case you're interested, you can see it in action here:

People are pretty ingenious that is for sure. I will work on a pic but am pretty busy. I think that backpacker might be an idea but because of limitations of space might not work either. There has to be something that works.

I typically use a monopod for sports events: small footprint, can spin 360 degrees with a simple hand motion.
I've shot hours of video (son's bball games) using a monopod.;/ l ,[____], Its a Jeep thing,
