    Hi All:

I'm hoping someone here has been successful in what I'm trying to do, as I haven't figured out the right combination of options to get what I want.

I recently purchased the Skydigital CaptureU3.0. So far things have gone relatively smoothly. I'm able to capture audio and video via HDMI. However, there are 2 things that I'm missing:

    1. (primary) I would prefer to capture audio in DD, but I'm only able to see 2 channel audio. And, yes, I'm sure the source is DD. This is the primary reason I bought this box.

    2. (secondary) I would like to at least attempt to save the uncompressed HDMI stream. The reason, I'll be editing the video and compressing later...so would like to avoid an extra compression step. Supposedly the CaptureU will do this...I just haven't figured out the right option matrix.

More info for #1 - As I said, I am positive that my source video is coming through as DD5.1. However, using multiple capture programs (including the Sky Digital Capture program that came with the unit), it appears that only 2 channel audio is able to be recorded. Also, all settings in the Sky Digital Capture program only point to 2 channel recording. Nothing mentions multi-channel audio.

So, if you've got this working (using almost anything - the included Capture program, ffmpeg, etc) and can help me out, please let me know! Thank you!!

I've not used it, but the specs specifically state multichannel audio capture and even reference DTS audio. I'd suspect a software issue or what they really mean is multi-channel audio is captured (and converted to stereo).

Have you attempted to contact the manufacturer or visit their support page (if any)?
