    Poly want a cracker.
    Poly want a carbonate.
    Poly carries on twerking...

Oh well just had to join the fray....
For the nth time, with the possible exception of certain Intel processors, I don't have/ever owned anything whose name starts with "i".

  5. Yes, the polycarbonate layers are there to protect the dye and reflective layers, and to provide structural rigidity. Polycarbonate is hard to break but it scratches pretty easily.

  6. 1 is proven that Polycarbonate is done in order to protect data from disc and read from disc?

2 if the polycarbonate was made to protect because there are very scratched discs that have damaged your reading or even data loss by scratches? was to be 100% safe from scratching

3 In a DVD + R has many layers of polycarbonate?

    1. Jagabo and others answered YES.
    Jagabo e outros responderam SIM.

Egyptians used stone tablets for data.
Egípcios usavam tábuas de pedra para dados.

Stone and wood are not the best for DVD surfaces.

    2. Unclear translation. Perhaps you meant to ask, Is there a 100% scratch-proof surface?
Existe uma superfície à prova de arranhões 100%?

Diamonds. But some diamonds can scratch other diamonds.
Diamantes. Mas alguns diamantes podem arranhar outros diamantes.

Egyptian tablets suffered from 3,000 years of sand erosion, but many are still readable.

No one kept 3,000-year-old stone-DVD players. I don't know why.

    I did check eBay, yes.
    Fiz uma checagem eBay, sim.

    3. Not a useful question. Number Of Layers is not important.
Número de camadas não é importante.

DVDs must be a certain thickness, no more, no less.

Players need Disks to be a certain thickness. That is how thick polycarb layers are.

If they need 2 layers for proper thickness, then they use 2.

If they need 17, they use 17.
Se eles precisam de 17, eles usam 17.

    Fungus not included.
    Fungo não incluído.

1 What is the thickness between layers of polycarbonate and layers data and reading of disc?

    Some overdue corrections...

Egyptian tablets suffered from 3,000 years of sand erosion, but many are still readable.

No one kept 3,000-year-old stone-DVD players. I don't know why.

DVDs must be a certain thickness, no more, no less.

Players need Disks to be a certain thickness. That is how thick polycarb layers are.

If they need 17, they use 17.
    Se precisarem de 17, vão usar/ter 17.

    Dear thanks for your help

1 In this link you posted talks on substrate, which is substrate?

2 the link does not say what the thickness of two layers of polycarbonate, I'm not talking about the total disk thickness of only 2 layers of polycarbonate

3 on a DVD + R which is the name of the layer responsible for reading the disc?

And the OP's 'plan' is begining to produce the desired results.

I am not gonna soil this topic more by even answering 3. (which is obvious but not acceptable to this ejit)

Heggunte, thanks for the far superior grammar. It's been a while since my 3-year-stint in Brasilia (1988?!!) and I no longer can tell Good from Bad grammer or word choices. Thanks. Sorry for any offending humor in there - I simply could not stop myself.

Jagabo, your ID could easily be "Job" as in "The patience of..." Congrats and thanks, and atta-boy, too.

I was talking to jman. I agree, there's something wrong with the OP. But I'll respond to posts I want to respond to, and he's free to respond to the posts he wants to.

After reading through: I almost want to tell the OP to scratch the top layer off the disc, and see if it'll play.

I know that certain commercial CDs have the written layer on the top of the polycarbonate layer, and, when scratched deeply - will render the disc useless.

The FAQ on DVDs, CDs and blueray recordable should be enough if the OP would read.

You've already been given links that show that CDs do not have a polycarbonate layer on the top.

I don't know why the members of VH are being so rude/mean to this person.

Yes, the OP is over-concerned with some topics, but I'd rather that than run into someone that assumes or insists you can buy anything and it's perfectly fine, as most people do. He's asking some good questions, even if tedious.

There's also a language barrier, but I'm fine with that.

    We've been answering him here:
