  1. I have an AverTV HD DVR PCI-E card (c027) capture card, I've had it for two years and its always worked great, I recently formatted my hard drive and re-installed Windows 7, I went ahead with routine installing of the drivers but I seem to be running into trouble, when the drivers install, I get the windows message stating
"Device driver software was not successfully installed."
"Multimedia Video Controller No Driver found"

    Here's a picture

The thing is, under Device Manager, it shows that it's installed properly and says its functioning properly. I have hooked up my PS3, Xbox 360 and my TV set top box into the capture card via HDMI and receive "No signal found" using both the manufacture software and third party software.

Thing's I've tried to fix the problem
    -uninstall and reinstall drivers
-re-seating the capture card onto the motherboard
    -different HDMI cable
    -installing old drivers
-updating old drivers to newer ones
    -disable all Anti-Virus

Really not sure what to do, perhaps the card has died on me but it seems to sudden and unlikely as it worked prior to re-installing windows. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: just tested using composite cables and it works this way, not the way I like but it at least shows the hardware isn't dead.

So it shows the card's proper name in Device Manager and your capture software? Have you tried 480p, 720p, 1080i? Does the Capture Filter -> Video Decoder say "Signal Detected: 0" no matter what resolution is used?

  3. Yes, device manager shows the correct name and lists the driver as working properly, here's a pic

As for resolutions, I've tried everything possible on both the Avermedia capture software and other software. I've also tried changing the resolution of the devices I'm trying to capture from.

As for capture filter, I'm not sure where to look for that. I just know that regardless of capture software, I'm met with a black screen which displays the aver logo and no signal detected like pictured

Under Avermedia settings it does have the driver device selected and it the name shows up properly as well. Using other software, they usually don't have an HDMI option for me so I selected SVideo which always works as HDMI, doing so just leads to same result.

Feel like I've tried everything, at a loss right now on what to do.

i thought the avermedia software couldn't use hdmi and you needed to use something like vhcapture? also there were reports of flimsy hdmi port connectors on those cards breaking away from the board, you might give the cable a wiggle or take it out and inspect carefully.

  5. It can and always has been able to, even with HDCP it let you view what was passing through HDMI, you just couldn't capture, this isn't the case, I can't get a picture at all.

Still having this problem, not sure what I can do. Composite and component work, really prefer HDMI.

Sorry for late reply but how do I install using INF method? It says it's not available for that kind of installation.
