    An external monitor does not have a build-in speaker. After a laptop connects the monitor by the HDMI, the laptop speaker does not have the sound. If I disconnect the monitor, the laptop speaker makes the sound again. How to make the laptop (Win 7 home) speaker having sound after it connects to the external monitor by the HDMI? Thank you for your answer.

    Go to your laptops 'Control Panel>Sound' and you usually can disable the HDMI audio output and enable the laptop audio instead.
