  1. Firstly let me explain my setup.

I am in the uk and have cable TV with NTL. The cable signal is fed through my video then into a 10 channel amplifier splitter, to the various TV's in my house. The cable carries 5 analogue channels and the digital signal. Everything was fine with win98, MMC 6.2 and the bundled drivers that came with my all in wonder 128 pro.

I have upgraded to win xp so I have had to upgrade my drivers to 6.13.3279.0, and my MMC to 7.5.

Here is the wierd bit when I tune my channels in the analogue ones are fine with video and audio, but the digital signal and the Video channel dont have any sound. I have also Tried MMC 7.2, same thing happens.

My PC is in my bedroom along with a TV, these are both fed via a 2 channel splitter, so the signal going into the TV is the same as going into the PC. The sound is fine on all channels on the TV.

If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it, I really don't understand what could be causing this problem.

    Many Thanks

  2. MMC 7.6 might be worth a try (get it at the ATI.com site).
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. No did'nt make any difference.
Also cant see video in VDub, just a fuzzy black screen no matter which channel I select. Channel also always reverts back to 4 (i've seen a post on this somewhere before)
Downloaded the wrapper but how do you install it ?.
I've also read somewhere that there can be problems with VIA chipsets, my northbridge chip is an AMD761 but my southbridge is a VIA, searched for via patch on the forum but no luck.
Any one know where I can find it and if this may be causing me problems.

  4. Can anyone help me on this problem

I have noticed than when I do the autoscan for channels and it asks for the audio source, I select line in, but you are supposed to be able to flick through the channels to make sure you can hear the sound, but this is greyed out and the channel is locked to 4, and I can hear no sound. Although channel 4 does have sound when I run the TV program.

  5. Right I have some more info.

The problem definately appears to be with ATI's tuner, as I have connected my TV via scart to the composite in on the all in wonder and the sound is fine on all channels.

Now the problem with virtualdub. I have installed the wrapper but the only capture device available is 0 microsoft WDM image capture (Win32), this is the one that works with my webcam, but I cannot select my all in wonder card.

    Help please

  6. by the way at the moment I have gone back to mmc7.2, due to the fact that on installation the channel selector was greyed out on MMC7.6 and locked to channel 4. I thought this might cause me problems later.
