Hello everybody
I have a question concerning the playback of MKV files on my HT-E5550 Blu Ray player. When watching some mkv's I have issues with audio synchronization, namely that the playback is out of sync right from the start (sometimes getting progressively worse). I watch the files via a USB stick directly inserted into the Blu Ray player. When I use the same USB stick and plug it into the TV itself (also a Samsung), the playback is perfect.
Moreover, I also see this issue only coming up with some mkv's and not with others. I used MediaInfo to get some more information about the files and here is the two files (see for the output underneath). The main difference I see is that one file has AC-3 Audio with 2 channels and the other one AC-3 with 6 channels. Unfortunately, I am new to all of this and I was wondering whether anybody could give me some advice on what the issue might be and how to solve it. Thank you very much for your help!

Assuming the files play correctly on another device, it's typically a byproduct of the files exceeding the specs of the player.
If you can find the supported file specs for the player, compare the files to what is supported. Things to watch are the supported codecs (both video and audio), resolution, and bitrate (both audio and video).Google is your Friend -
Thank you for the reply. I checked for the specifications and as far as I can see, none of the files exceeds the recommended specifications of the device. Even more so, the second file which is playing just fine, has an even higher bitrate than the first one. I really don't understand what the issue is. I was wondering, could it have anything to do with the USB stick and maybe I should use a different playback device? Then again, if that would be the issue, it should occur when playing over the TV or the Blu Ray player.
