  1. I have downloaded the Movie "Saving Private Ryan", it is in like a 690 MB .Avi File. Yikes! When I load this .Avi into TMPEnc & encode to an Mpeg file it is gonna be a BIG Mpeg! I then need to Burn to a VCD format using Nero 5.5 in order that I may watch it on my DVD Player. How do I split this big Mpeg so that I can fit it cleanly on 2 CD-R's?

  2. Use TMPGenc again - go to File .. MPEG Tools .. Merge & Cut
Cut it in two and you can burn 2 VCDs.

Alternate would be to use a template from this site to make a xVCD that fits on one disk

  4. Under the advance section of TMPGenc look at the Source Range filter. You can select a start and end point for your encode. Pick a spot about half way through for the end of your first mpeg. Encode it. Then start part 2 at the end of part 1, and encode. No cutting. Neat-o. =) Use the bitrate calc to figure proper bitrate for each disk based on time...
