I have two cameras which are identical models, yet one of them produces an undesired interlacing-like effect as shown here:

The camera with the problem is in the bottom-left of the picture. The original video file does not show this behaviour although it is slightly out of focus. If I restore the video size to full screen then it's OK.

I made sure both video source are the same sizes but that has not made a difference. Can anyone suggest what is going on?

    I'm using Vegas V11.0 x64.

  2. Maybe one camera had a firmware update?

  3. Looks like improperly resized interlaced video. Right click on the clip in the timeline, go to the video event tab and see if changing the resample options makes any difference.

My guess is one is shooting progressive, the other interlace, and your field order is reversed. Try matching the project to that clip and see what happens. Open the project properties and click on the upper right thingy-doodle.

One camera is mine, which was setup correctly, and the other was that of the bride. They are the Sony HDR-XR260. I gave the bride's camera to a friend but I should have checked that it was setup correctly- my bad!

  8. To comfirm the worst, that camera can be set to shoot either interlaced or progressive. Still, by cclicking the resample option on the clip you should be able to get a more pleasing result.
