Hello , Im new here. I recently purchased a Canon HF G20 to do some filming. My computer is ancient so it wont hold or edit any of my videos with the old movie maker program. Im not looking to go broke on a computer and program. Looking for a decent computer suggestion.
Few programs i was considering trying are Adobe Premier Elements or pinnacle studio 16 Ultimate..I know they are lower end but all i can afford for now. Which would any of you suggest over the other?
As for computers im looking to just buy one at best buy. Not a fan of any particular brand but like to keep it at $900 or under. Any suggestions which brands are the best or what model for what im doing?
I appreciate any help i can get. I hate to spend the money then find out i cant use what i have.
    Thank you

premiere elements or the slightly more user friendly sony movie studio would be my suggestions. get an i5 or i7 cpu if you can, brand is probably secondary, and make it a desktop as laptops are prone to overheat and can't be expanded as easily. 2 or more hard drive are recommended.

you might look at just using the built in gpu(hd3000 or hd4000) in the i5 or i7 to start. gpu assist isn't required for editing(but it can help). if you can afford a card like a gtx570 670 770 or better then it can significantly reduce certain video encoding. a run of the mill consumer card won't.

One more question. I only see a few that burn Dual layer discs. Do I NEED dual layer to burn a Hour and half video or is there something else that these computers are compatible with?
    Thank you
