Does anyone know how to make samurize plugins compatible with potplayer?
(to be exact the one that shows the name of the song currently playing)
or if you know an easier way to do that with potplayer...
sorry if I posted this in the wrong place (tell me where to post this :3 ) and sorry for any grammar mistakes

You would likely get more answers in our 'Software Playing' forum. Moving you.
And welcome to our forums. -
samurize.com's forum might be the best place to ask this question.
If you can't get help from other samurize users maybe you should think about switching to something else, like rainmeter, which is still actively developed. It looks like development for samurize itself ceased in 2007, and while most samurize features work for Windows 7 and Windows 8 in compatibility mode, it was only designed for use with with Vista, XP, and Windows 2000. I never considered trying it for that reason, and I suspect a lot of people who used to use samurize have migrated to other desktop customization software after upgrading to Windows 7 or Windows 8. -
well I fount this http://docs.rainmeter.net/manual/plugins/nowplaying manual plugin for rainmeter it doesn't say if it supports potplayer though :/ I ll post this in rainmeter forums too

I looked for some information about Rainmeter's NowPlaying plugin and potplayer. It doesn't seem likely that potplayer will fully work with Rainmeter's NowPlaying plugin. According to a 2011 post by the author of Soita, the official skin for Rainmeter's NowPlaying plugin, he tried adding support for potplayer to his skin at the request of a user but could not get cover art working. http://poiru.deviantart.com/art/Soita-for-Rainmeter-209864541?comments_view=3&offset=160
potplayer itself is skinnable, so maybe you can find or create an acceptable skin. Otherwise, it looks like you will need to use a different music player that is better supported by samurize, Rainmeter, or some other similar program. -
I don't listen to music files on my PC very often, so I'm not the best one to ask. You will be limited to supported music players anyway.
I don't know what samurize supports. I use Rainmeter, but never used its music skins. Soita and All-in-one Player for Rainmeter's NowPlaying plugin claim full support for AIMP, iTunes, Windows Media Player, Winamp, MediaMonkey, MusicBee, and Foobar2000. I would look at those to see if any seem like good choices for you. -
Yes. Find a player that will do what you want to do.
Potplayer isn't bad ... when I used windows 7 I never used it much but didn't uninstall it either ... but it's not well supported by plugins et al.
It's not trivial to make plugins work, especially if the developer's web site is in Korean and he doesn't know any other languages work. It's definitely not something the average end user can do anyway.
The other problem with plugins/skins etc is that they very well may not work anymore when there's a program update. Considering potplayer is always updating, and that its own features often stop working when it does, I'd never use plugins with it. -
I don't have one setup. Browse the Rainmeter desktops/skins for one that has the appearance that you want, and then see what media player was used.
