Hi all,
I feel stupid asking this even in a newbies thread but here goes.
Back in the days of my CRT, I bought PAL R4 or R2 DVDs to watch here in Australia, as I didn't like the look of NTSC on a PAL TV. Now I have an HDTV and some of the USA TV series I'd like to buy on DVD are cheaper in R1 than R2/4. Given that technically I'm still using a TV with a PAL framerate, will I still notice a big difference if I buy the R1 discs? Or does a modern TV and BD player 'upscale' (for want of a more accurate word) this problem away?
Thanks,
rassilon256

	You will notice a difference.

You will not see any picture (unless your player is multi-region or region-free)

It is the player that does the up-scaling. Personally I see little difference with NTSC (region-free) disks. There is a slight kick when NTSC frame rate kicks in but I do not experience any playback issues.
