  1. I am donating some old refurbished. PCs (C2D or even older) to the community (KiDs) somewhere in next week. Two KiDs are familiar with Linux and Libre/OpenOffice, I am very happy with that. Still, I am looking forward to buy at least 6 to 10 volume license either for Windows 7 or Windows 8, whatever is cheaper. The cheapest I could ever found is Windows 7 Home Premium -3 Users for $280.00 approximately from local reseller. I certainly can not afford. These KiDs are contributing and already getting a lot of used working HDDs either from ebay or kijiji for very... very cheap.

Any one has idea where can I get genuine license cheaper? Or I can give them without any OS installed, they are free to buy (certainly can not afford $280/3) and install whatever they want as a last option.

Write an e-mail to Microsoft. If they decline or don't answer, make a YT video asking for help, and stick the MS response into the video.

  3. hi budwzr
BuD is my favorite brand too. neway,

Microsoft normally do not quote to end users, they normally re-direct to re-sellers, that is what my experience in past, but, I was lucky to deal WinXP/Vista licenses for way cheap. Now a days WinXP/vista are out of the racks.

You're asking for a charitable donation. Make a point of that in the subject line.

I quit on Budweiser and switched to 4 Loco. More buzz for the buck.

Just simply do not go too hard.
I still like enjoying BuD with among few others in my backyard enjoying cute hare babies sniffing my feet, and love watching them messing around. They do have very high affinity with my own pets.

I would be very happy to see a innocent smiles on KiDs faces rather than making any subject line. And this is b'coz I am gonna leave everything way far behind beyond my reach during the last odyssey to the unknowns.

Would Linux be a option to those pc's? Cheaper than that isn't possible i guess

  8. $90 is the going price for a Windows System Builder's license. Family Pack Upgrade 3-packs go for about $120 when available. Since they are upgrades they require an older version of Windows be installed before upgrading.

  9. Check businesses, tech schools, and the side of the road for old, throw-away PCs with the license code sticker on the box. Many of these will work for a new install. Most of them, more than once.

Already installed Linux on two, these two baby penguines will run the show by evening today and keeps the two kids busy demonstrating and explaining other kids how it works, they will also play some games like sudoku, SuperTux, BattleBall, Kwordquiz, TuxMath, TuxPaint and little bit of OpenOffice. Hope every one will go for it.

I am trying to get hold of the biggest whole-seller I know.

If nothing works out, I will give them without any OS installed, as a last option.

Yes, but Windows doesn't get any cheaper than that (except for specials like $40 upgrades to Win8 when it first came out.

Any smart kid knows how to get a fully functional Windows install without a license. And anybody can install Windows and run it without a license. You just get a black desktop and that annoying nag about not having a licensed every few hours.

  12. From the biggest whole-seller in town,I am getting Win 7 x64 (or x86) at $30.00. It seems OK.
I will wait for KiDs response & their choice. If any KiD goes for Windows 7, I will put 50%

Windows and run it without a license. You just get a black desktop and that annoying nag about not having a licensed every few hours.
    i HATE buggy-n-handicapped wares.
