1) I've checked help topic here from YouTube regarding advanced encoding settings and will encode into 640*360.
Please help me to determine exact settings in VidCoder to encode a ready-to-upload file to YouTube.
2) How to reduce the encoding time so I can encode a file with an hour duration in two minutes or two minutes and a half.
Thanks a lot
Note:- I can pay you for a consultation ticket if you want because this is really important for our business.

Encoding time is related to the resolution of the source video, resolution of the output, speed of the encoding PC,
encoder options, etc, etc. Provide some details so we may be able to evaluate your request. -
That's all? Is the source resolution so low? At least go 854x480, if not actual Hi-Def if the source is also Hi-Def.
Please help me to determine exact settings in VidCoder...

I searched a bit and find that .mp4 container with h264 codec is the best option for youtube. But the only problem with .mp4 is the moov atom to the beginning so I've searched for a client to do the encoding and moov atom to the beginning of the file at the same time.
I've found VidCoder client and start to do the encoding with the following resolution:-
Original = 720x576 ===>> Output = 640x360.
Computer is Intel Core i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeFForce GTX 550 Ti, 180 GB SSD.
The main idea for me is the time consumed to do the video encoding because as fast as we do it as better and more clients we can get contracted with.
Thanks -
Those times sound awful good already. Maybe a render farm.

(a couple of years old, but the principles are valid.) -
I think you do not have to worry about multiplexer placing moov atom at the beginning because YouTube will re-encode and multiplex it again.
Anyway, MP4box does these things default, if vidcoder uses that multiplexer.
RipBot264 has network rendering capability.
CRF is 1pass encoding. You do not mention if you use 2pass VBR encoding or CRF. That's the way how to speed up things also. -
Then you should definitely go for 480p, if not 720p. Unless you don't care about quality. And maybe you don't, given this 'need-for-speed'.
But the only problem with .mp4 is the moov atom to the beginning so I've searched for a client to do the encoding and moov atom to the beginning of the file at the same time.
The current default settings is encoding a file with an hour duration long into approximately 5 minutes which is toooo long. Please more information about this please.

I think you should place less emphasis on speed and much more on quality. Your company will be reflected in the quality of your encodes. -
Try using the Quick Sync beta of Handbrake directly. The QS encoder is faster than x264 software encoding. On my i5 2500K the QS encoder is 2 to 3 times faster than x264 with the veryfast preset. Quality (per bitrate) isn't quite as good though.
Though if audio encoding and filtering are consuming a lot of CPU time you'll get less of an increase. And your CPU close to twice as fast as mine at software encoding so your increase in encoding speed will be smaller.Last edited by jagabo; 30th Aug 2013 at 07:49.
