    i have brought a underwater vid camera,a plug and play one....i plug it in the av on back of tv .but i want to record it somehow,,what software to i need to install on laptop to record it ,laptop has no av plugs on it,but i hear there is a convertor that u can buy,,????i thought about buying a dvd recorder and tv to try ,but dont want to waste my money if it dosnt work,i would sooner use my laptop if poss,,but dont know alot about pcs,,,can any one please help me

    You need a capture device between the camera and your laptop. You do not specify the type of AV connection you have from the camera and that determines what type of capture device you go for. Provide more details.

    thanks its just a plain yellow push on plug.just vid one no audio,but dont need,i plug it in back of small tv to watch,,,,,,,,could i hook up a dvd recorder to it?????but to record onto laptop would be best

    You could hook it up to a dvd-recorder or get a basic analogue capture device. The cheapest/decent option would be an Ezcap116. Do not be tempted by cheaper easycaps as these do not always work.
