    That's really strange.
    Try the new Subtitle Workshop 6, check if the same happens.

    Really, really strange.

    Can you please answer the following questions:

    1. Does it only happen for Hide and Show, or for the Duration and Pause boxes as well?

    2. What happens if you simply use the arrows to modify the values?

    3. What happens if you use the mouse wheel (without clicking inside the boxes) to modify the values?

    4. Also, give me other examples with other values like this one:

    Show
    [00:03:05:625] -----> once I click inside, that's what appears [25. . , ]
    Does it always turn exactly to [25. . , ] or is this 25 the last two numbers of the actual value?

    5. What happens when you exit the box that has the value [25. . , ]? Is the original value restored or does it change to something?

  5. 1. For each box in time mode, if I select frame mode everything works fine
    2. If I use the arrows I can modify the values... [just +100 ms or -100] so I can't edit them properly...
    For example:

    1 00:00:23,702 00:00:25,927 +
    2 00:00:25,958 00:00:27,633

    If I simply use the arrows to increase the value (hide value, first line) I can't get what I want
    1 00:00:23,702 00:00:25,927 + Once I click ------> 1 00:00:23,702 00:00:26,027
    but I wish it was -----> 1 00:00:23,702 00:00:25,958

    3. No effect.
    4. This 25 are the last two numbers of the actual value. If I copy this strange value [25. . , ] and then I paste it to notepad, I get the original value [00:03:05:625]
    5. The original value is restored.

    The only solution is the following at the moment, for me:
    I click inside the box to modify the values, then I delete its content and I write the entire correct value and after I press enter... but this is a boring and slow process.

  6. I have followed this thread with interest. The topics are more advanced than I'm ready for.
    Where is the Subtitle Edit help forum?

    Over at Aegis sub some time ago I got no responses on beginner questions. My beginner questions are all on timing-- the timing of one job in which nothing seems to work.

    This means redirecting me to guides and so on solves nothing. I do however have one new thought on it.

    Is that for Subtitle Workshop 6 or 2.51?

    And one more question - what happens if you enter a time box not by clicking on it, but by using the TAB key?

    Here's a search and replace bug.

    I want to replace "1 " by "1" (OCR often puts a space after "1"); it may find some of them, but not all.
    Example:
    Code:
    1
    00:07:12,014 --> 00:07:19,396
    In 2011 and 2012, an export
    of 12 million megatonne is expected.

    2
    00:08:45,733 --> 00:08:48,985
    We started out at 21 ,
    and we want to come under 15.

    3
    01:08:58,926 --> 01:09:03,972
    DAY 1 19
    With this file if I start the S&R, it finds line 1, where the space is not wrong, so I click "Find next". But it just stays on line 1.
    If I hadn't noticed the other ones (here line 2 and 3) already, I would think that there were no others.

    I know there are workarounds:
    "OCR" errors fix can get this, ("unnecessary spaces")
    I can also just do Find "1 " and fix them manually.
    But the S&R should work too.

    In general, the S&R is very basic. No regular expressions or even wildcards.
    I don't want to have to create a script to do a one-time search.

    In the Search and Replace window there is a "More >" button. Click on it and the window will expand. Then for "Search for text in:" select "From the selected subtitle" instead of "All subtitle". That should fix your problem.

    We still haven't gotten to improving the search and replace function, but it is in our plans. It will support regular expressions, loop search and more. There's just not enough time to improve everything at once

    Wish you could consider Right-to-Left writing in later updates. Something like Facebook format.

    Do you mean Right-to-Left languages like Hebrew and Arabic? This is precisely what I'm working on currently.
    I'm not sure what "Facebook format" is?

    Could you make a way to turn off the "feature" that the time jumps when you move the mouse over the timeline.

    This drives me nuts. I'm editing a subtitle, move the mouse up to the menu bar to select an option, and then the timeline jumps an hour and it takes me a minute to find where I was, and then very carefully circle the mouse around the timeline so it doesn't trigger this jump again. It's like defusing a bomb, the slightest touch can set it off.

    Make it so the timeline is hot only when, say, the control key is on. But not any time the mouse goes near it.

    In Subtitleworkshop 2.5 when i want to write something in Farsi that includes a name in EN, I had to do some kinda left-right experiment! to make it looks ok!!

    for example, I want to translate this to Farsi but keep "Benjamin" in EN :
    Hi. My name is Benjamin.

    Hi = سلام
    My Name = اسم من
    is = هست
    Benjamin = Benjamin

    I have to write THE last [dot] first, Then i have to write "Benjamin" Then try to find the currect place for "Benjamin" to looks OK as Farsi grammar.

    .سلام. اسم من Benjamin هست this is wrong, it says: Is Benjamin hi. My name is.
    .هست Benjamin سلام. اسم من this is OK, it says: Hi. My name is Benjamin.

    That's exactly what I'm working on. Subtitle Workshop never used RTL BiDi Mode, even when an RTL charset was selected. In the next version it will. PM me your e-mail, I'll need people like you testing this mode when it's complete.

    Hi, Andy.
    I just DL the new version, but can't install it.
    Right from the start, I get an error message.
    Not quite sure what's about, nor how to fix it.
    Could you help, please?

    P.S.
    Been using the old v. 2.51.
    That installed without a hitch, but had problems with MP4 and MKV

    For the installation problem, see this thread in our forum:
    http://sourceforge.net/p/subworkshop/discussion/help/thread/e0e01cba/

    If you're having issues with video files, you probably don't have any video codecs installed, so you need to install the latest version of one of the popular codec packs like K-Lite.
