  1. Hi, I want to use a set of 3 HD webcams connected to one computer and record them in HD at the same time.
What software should I use? what cams should I use?
I want it to be simple to start and stop recording.
The thing Im trying to do is to set up a one man show without the need to move around cameras.
The recordings are to be edited and then put on YouTube.
    Any ideas?

  2. Try looking at PC software such as Vmix, http://www.vmix.com.au/
    Wirecast http://www.telestream.net/wirecast/
    Xsplit http://www.xsplit.com/
    Vidblaster http://www.vidblaster.com/
    manycam http://www.manycam.com/
    For Mac's, Wirecast is available.
These are software switchers that can use multiple cameras connected to one computer. Most can do live green screen effects and multipule cams on screen effects. HD Recording and or live streaming too. For best results you'll need a recent high quality desktop or laptop.
As far as cams, I'd go with Logitech 910, 920 or 930 webcams. Others will work too. More involved and expensive would be to use HD camcorders and black magic capture cards.

  3. This is pretty much exactly what I wish to do too. On a newer iMac, and on a pauper's video budget.

Darned if entry level Wirecast doesn't appear to be $495, which is about $450 or so too much for me - any suggestions? (ideas for fully Mac compatible HD webcams also appreciated)
