I get this when playing a video with MPC-HC: http://bildr.no/view/bWQxRnJr and this with VLC: http://bildr.no/view/K0pOSzJJ - How do I fix this..?

for mpc-hc, those pixels only last for few seconds and then they are gone. then after 30secs or something, they are back for few more seconds.... it does not matter whether it is a 480p or a 720p file... it happens whatsoever.

I am on a windows xp Fujitsu laptop.

some say software and hardware decoding, but how do i do that..?

I was just wondering if it happened with all your video files or just one video file...but I see now that you already mentioned that in the first post.

Has it always been like this?

You can disable hardware decoding easily by playing two video files at the same time in two video players. The first player will use hardware decoding and the later not.

Try also more players like smplayer, pot player.
