Hey guys/girls, to start this off I'm very new to making DVDs. The Problem I'm having is my audio is slightly behind the video. They play fine on the computer but after they are burned they go out of sync.
The original files are .mkv but I used Freemake Video Converter to re-encode them to .mpg and enhanced the quality (I think) but I still have the originals.
Other Info:
Burned with: DVDStyler
Burned on: Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL 8.5GB
Video:
.mkv: H264 1280x720 16:9 1360 Kbps 23.98 fps AC3 48 KHz 384 Kbps 5.1
.mpg: MPEG2VIDEO 1280x720 16:9 3637 Kbps 23.98 MP2 48KHz 256 Kbps Stereo
DVDStyler Settings:
Video bitrate: 5 MBit/ss
Audio bitrate: 384 Kbit/s (Thought if I matched it that would fix it)
Video Format: NTSC 720x480
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Audio Format: AC3 48 kHz
(Ask if you need more information)
Um, I'm not doing a movie I'm doing a mini-series so I would like to keep DVDStyler (or something like it) for navigation sakes.
Thanks for the help I will be watching this thread closely. As I'm a Complete Novice you will need to hold my hand for almost anything.
EDIT: Computer Specs (If needed) are on my profile.

You took a downloaded MKV and reencoded it to a 1280x720 MPEG using Freemake. Then you took that 1280x720 MPEG and let DVD Styler reencode it to 720x480. So it took you two steps to get the DVD and somewhere along the line it got out of synch. Is that right? You reencoded unnecessarily when you could have gone straight from your MKV to the DVD?
My first suggestion is to let AVSToDVD convert the MKV to DVD. Have it make a DVD compliant MPEG if you want to then use DVD Styler to make menus (and not reencode yet again). Or let it make the finished DVD with its simple menu, ready to burn to disc (which it can do too).

Sorry I should have been more clear. I tried to burn it with the .mkv and got the sync issue so I did some research and someone said to try it in .mpg so I converted it and got the same issue.

You weren't clear then; you aren't clear now. 'Burning' is the physical act of putting the file(s) on disc. It doesn't mean converting and burning to disc. If you're trying to create a DVD (?), then you don't 'burn it with the .mkv.'
This isn't any guarantee you won't get synch issues when using AVSToDVD, but I'd trust it over any other all-in-one app. When you download stuff from the internet you take your chances. If the audio is out of synch by the same amount all the way through, it can be easily fixed afterwards.Last edited by manono; 12th Aug 2013 at 02:52.

Fixed! Little jumpy here and there but not bad. Thank you very much manono!
