Reduce reference frames WITHOUT change mkv resolution

Hi.

Is there any program that i can reduce any mkv file reference frames WITHOUT loose any of the mkv video quality?

Nope.

Because the quantity of *reference frames* is a property of a H.264 video stream.

MKV is just a container in which a video/audio/subtitle stream can be wrapped.

And isn't there any quick program that i can reduce these re-frames?

Use uncropmkv or handbrake,you have to re-encode to reduce reference frames.

Isn't there any QUICK program that doesn't need re-encoding because at the netbook i use it take TOOOOOOO LONG to re-encode the complete movie.

Nope,you have to re-encode to reduce reference frames,you can ask as many times as you want but there's no other way,RE-ENCODE!.

Handbrake's Normal preset is about as fast as it gets.

Use mediainfo to show the r frames.Just rip your G.I. Joe: Retaliation again and encode it it with lower r frames such 3-5.

In theory L4.1 should limit the reference frames to Blu-ray compatibility:

But since you aren't using a Blu-ray standard frame size I wouldn't count on that working correctly. And keep in mind, the level is only a number in the header. Anybody can put whatever they want there. It doesn't necessarily reflect the properties of the video.

You have way to many consecutive b-frames for Blu-ray.

While I'm not as anti warez as some people here, you should stop claiming it's your blu ray you're talking about here. Any reasonably knowledgeable user could read the above and see it's torrented.

And fast encoding with a netbook? Sorry, but that's impossible. Video encoders are actually pretty mature technology. No magic bullet there.

However, since apparently you won't listen to anything that isn't what you want to hear, and you refuse to believe there isn't a simple solution to a complex task, that's all I'm going to have to say on the subject.
