reencode with different audio track

I have a mkv file with 2 audio tracks, but as default it plays a language im not interested in, how can i make it have ENG as its default audio track? Do i need to reencode it and how do i do that on a mac?

Don't need to re-encode

Use mkvtoolnix, highlight the audio track, in the general options tab select default track flag (toggle it yes or no) , do the same for the other audio track, push start muxing
