  1. When I am watching a tape, the picture jitters a lot, and once in awhile it gets too bad to watch. Also, sometimes, when I am rewinding a tape, the clear part of the tape goes right past the sensor, which shuts the VCR off, and then it has trouble ejecting. What could be the problem?

Nope. Uneven tape movement. Could be misalignment, belts, capstan, capstan drive, cylinder drive. COuld be a lot of things. Not worn heads.

I'd help you if I knew the answers. Your questions are good and you deserve help. Looks like the people who know are just not reading this. Try bumping it on MONDAY as weekends often have our most experienced members not paying attention to the forums here and trying to act like they have a life

  7. I noticed that when done rewinding, it turns off as the clear part of the tape passes a sensor without stopping. If it stops at the right time it stays on.

End sensors are faulty, time to buy a used hi-fi vcr, they sell at our local thrift shop for $5 in good working order, not worth repairing unless it's an uber deck.
