  1. I'm guessing if its possible it'll need a separate program but I'm looking to get audio and video on both laptop and tv via hdmi when they are both on. Why? Because sometimes when the hdmi cable gets unplugged and replugged, the tv audio doesn't get detected by the computer and it only plays on the laptop. The people using this laptop don't know how to change it from laptop audio to the TV's.

Ideally, I'm trying to have both the A/V on both devices so that even with the TV off and HDMI connected, the laptop will still have picture and sound.

Use the clone mode? Or can't you select any such?

    Like for intel, http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-031023.htm

I'm not sure if you can get audio on both at same time though.

  3. I believe the clone mode only gives the option to clone the screens and I have to select an audio source.

As noted, clone mode only applies to video. Windows only allows a single output for audio.

  5. Make the HDMI audio the default audio, that should do it.

Are you using laptop output for the TV, or is there a splitter in the chain before the laptop?
