Unfortunately i don't really know a lot about computers, so my problem is probably extremely simple to solve, but...a almost beginner like me can't detect the mistake, so if someone could help me, it would be highly appreciated!!

Not so long ago video downloadhelper was installed very nicely on my computer with a friends help, but unfortunately it was necessary to reinstall my computer completely, so now i need to install this program again, and this time it seems that i am on my own...

I have probably already done something right, since i have installed firefox and the download helper programme, since i now see three balls in different colours up in my toolbar. After that i found a guide somewhere which explained how to install the small additional conversion programme, and i believe that i also succeeded here!

But when i now try to download a video from youtube, it takes approximately 1 second before it is finished, and when i click and see what i have downloaded, i actually see my programme, but the size of it is 0 bytes.

What have i done wrong? Could someone please help me...

    Greetings

  2. Some Youtube videos now use a streaming method that Download Helper can't download properly. You'll have to wait for an update. Or use another program. I believe MassTube works for many of those videos.

Thank you for your nice reply! I have just tried to download and install masstube on my computer, but here i also have a problem...

I of course don't know if i did this correctly, but i can see that it takes up 1.700 kb space on my computer, and i also have a desktop icon for it. But...when i click on it in order to try to open it, nothing happens... WHY? If the problem is that i need to restart my computer, i can't do that until tomorrow, since i am installing new antivirus software at the moment, and this seems quite foolish to interrupt. But my guess is that i made some other error? Maybe i didn't instal it correctly?

What are you talking about? Masstube? Or a video you downloaded? If Masstube, maybe it started minimized in the System Tray. It normally looks like this:
