  1. hi guys,

i just bought this camcorder from a friend for a roughly $500 and 10 months to paid, now i am looking for a decent and cheap Wide angle lens adapter..
Canon WD-58H 58mm 0.7x Wide Angle Converter Lens is so freaking expensive, ( i live in canada ) price is $200-$300 and that is so crazy price...

do you guys know any cheaper than this crazy canon lens?
i saw some in amazon like Vivitar brand and Zeikos,, but i need to ask you guys first..

  2. Any photo store or best buy will have cheapie WA converters hanging on a hook in bubble packs, sony makes some cheapies also.

Just be aware that you pay the big bucks to 1) minimize fisheye curvature distortion, 2) minimize chromatic aberration (rainbowing), particularly at the edges, and most importantly 3) maintain the ability to zoom-through while holding focus.

  4. Having not used either of those lenses I can't give you a specific answer except to say it probably has to do with the parameters I mentioned earlier. (It's not out of the question a better, cheaper manufacturing process was developed along the way -- I don't know.)

Any 58mm-threaded lens or filter should work on that camera.

edit: looks like the less expensive lens has three pieces of glass, the more expensive one has four. Both have excellent reviews going back to 2008 and 2009. (The more expensive lens seems to be newer.)
