  1. A good friend of mine who's helped me a lot in the past mentioned that there was an old Chinese film he saw as a kid and really liked but it had no subtitles. I wanted to do something to repay him so I decided that I would find this film on dvd and buy it for him, and if necessary add subtitles. I finally found a web site selling it so I bought a copy online. Unfortunately it didn't have any subtitles. Since I speak Chinese I decided to translate the entire film into English and add subtitles. That was a year ago.

It's taken me 10 months but I finally completed the English translation. Now I'm trying to add subtitles. I've gotten to the stage where I have a .srt file with the subtitles. Now I just need to create a new dvd with that file in the right place.

I'm trying to follow the guide here:

    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/277950-How-to-add-new-subtitles-to-an-existing-DVD

but I've had a few problems. The first time I used Subtitle Creator I recall there was a box asking me to select the location of certain programs: Pgcdemux.exe, muxman.exe and vobblanker. I selected the first two ok but not the third one. Now when I try to use the DVD Authoring Wizard in SC it comes up with an error that vobblanker not found before it finishes. I can't find any option to enter the location of vobblanker. Is there a way of fixing this? If not, is there another program that will do the same thing?

I've never done this before so I would really appreciate it if someone would walk me through the process.

  2. Yes, don't use SubtitleCreator to author the DVD, but only to make the subs. Follow Baldrick's Method 2 in that guide to add the subs into the DVD - reauthor using Muxman directly and then add the reauthored DVD back into the original using VobBlanker. Don't forget to 'turn on' the subs after the VobBlanker step so they're usable.

Or, if the wizard got as far as creating the new DVD with subs, do the VobBlanker step on your own to get the menus back and whatever else was in the original DVD.
