Unfortunately I set on AVCHD camera to record audio in PCM instead of AC3. Last clips imported to NLE (Avid Pinnacle Studio 1.1.0.) are without audio, in VLC player are OK. Playback on TV set (from SD card) is without audio. I found FFMBC as a proper tool and tried some controls, it is amazing.
Please can you help me to find failure "Unable to find a suitable output format" in my following FFMBC batch ?

    Code:
    ffmbc -i test.mts -vcodec copy -acodec ac3 -ab 256k -strict output.mts
    pause

  2. I haven't heard of an NLE that won't accept PCM. Try demuxing and importing audio and video separately. Post a mediainfo report of the original files if problems persist.

You aren't using multitrack audio like the poster a couple of days ago, are you?

Seems to be AVCHD is the reason that NLE and Panasonic TV set require different audio codec as PCM.
Already I have edited hundreds of MTS without any difficulties. (Except of Adobe CS6 which is not importing any audio) ....
Wau we discovered side effect. Some month ago were huge discussions why imported MTS files are missing audio only on Premiere CS6, but not 5.5 This was my reason to siwtch to Pinnacle Studio.
Now I checked and really MTS with PCM audio is CS6 importing correctly - including audio
Thanks for advice demuxing helps, but I have to watch on timeline not to loss a lip-sync.
