Nope, I haven't revoked the warranty, because I still have the HP recovery partition, and also the HP factory recovery DVD's I created when I first bought the PC, which, if anything goes wrong and it's still under warranty, I just reboot with F11 to restore win7 or if the HP recovery partition is corrupt, I restore using the factory win7 restoration DVD's.

My workstation 'now' uses my recently built **N.A.S. system with UPS backup, which the PC automatically (using a schedule) backs up all the data to the N.A.S. every 15 minutes, only replacing files that have changed, within the last 15 minutes.

**Those not familiar with N.A.S it means, Network Attached Storage.

If the entire HDD went tits up, then HP can't say if I revoked the warranty or not, because the HDD would be too bad for recovery and the only option would be for them to replace the HDD.

Yep, kdenlive (even though not yet fully complete), does as much as any win based editor does, if not, more, and it's free, also kdenlive has a built in DVD wizard for the final authoring, as well as an online library of 'free' extra transitions, effects, title scripts, animations, and much more, win editors with that ability, the user would have to 'buy' the extras

Also in Linux there's Openshot, which uses Blender for background rendering of 3D animated titles.

So, yeah, it does what I want and doesn't do what win based editors do, cause lag and de-sync.
