If I load a .VOB file and create a simple DVD, FFMPEG runs, then MuxMan.
If I open the associated .IFO file instead, it gets indexed then an encoder runs.
Since the Preferences are to keep compliant video and audio, it seems odd.

    Anything?

  5. I apolgize for forgetting the thread...

    About the logs.

In the first project (source VOB) FFmpeg is called to demux video and audio, hence they are kept as they are, therefore authored to DVD structure with Muxman.

In the second project (source IFO), the original DVD structure is indexed, hence a DGIndex file (d2v) created and encoded.

Where exactly do you see dicrepancies from the Preferences?

I assumed(?) that since the IFO source was referring to the same vob files that no encoding would take place.
That aside, when the ifo file is selected, not all of the files in the Temp folder are removed, thus:

  7. Actually, if you look carefully to AVStoDVD main window after IFO file adding, there is no reference to the IFO file itself, but to the d2v+ac3(mp2) files created after indexing. That's why you still find them in the temp files folder.

Probably I could add a question message to let the user choose to index (then re-encode) or to demux the VOBs associated to the IFO. Would that be clearer, in your opinion?

Can I weasel out with 'maybe'?
I was using the IFO file to get the complete Title to add new subs.
OTOH, selecting the IFO means you might get an unwanted, non functioning menu playing out before the main movie - something the unwary might be surprised by.
If instead you select a group of related vob files from the same Title to demux, you end up with multiple Titles, so you can't add the new subs anyway.
I leave it up to yourself.
    Cheers.
