Frame capture from video with Potplayer

I would like to capture frames from the video. However, when I chose the PNG picture-format, the color space is not the same as I see on the screen. (therefore the quality is much worse) The capture in JPG and BMP formats are in the correct color space.

Can you solve the PNG wrong color space problem?

When I save it BMP format in potplayer, the colors are OK.
(I recomressed the BMP files to PNG files manually)

I've many more posts, My first registration was in the very beginnings, the "infant era" of videohelp.com. I usually register a new username when I buy a new PC new laptop or tablet. (I forgot my passwords). There are only 2 passwords which I memorized , a facebook and my official e*mail password ))))

The first photo was saved by potplayer as PNG, therefore the color space is wrong.

The second and third photos were saved as BMP by the potplayer, and I compressed them manually. The colors are O.K.

Hmm. There used to be a potplayer user forum on doom9's board. That's now gone. There isn't another one to my knowledge.

The developer apparently only speaks Korean. So unless you're willing to learn his language there's no documentation and no tech support. BTW my favorite player is SMplayer, which doesn't have much docs to speak of either. But with it I've never needed them.

I've never uninstalled potplayer from my windows partition (it's certainly not the worst program by any means and it doesn't need flaky codecs) but I've rarely used it. In fact it must be about at the top of the list of postings here from people having problems with it.

My main problem with it was that it's perpetual beta. One feature gets fixed and two others get buggy. There doesn't seem to be a stable version.

So ... try another player?

Nope. I just mirror the english versions from http://www.dvbsupport.net/ .
