    i need to record a bunch of videos to mp4 with a low bitrate. does anybody know what the best resize function is in avisynth to get the best quality?

    The softening filters like BilinearResize() will reduce noise and make the video more compressible. The sharpening filters like LanczosResize() will increase noise and make the video less compressible.
