I'm fairly new to burning DVD's and I usually use AVS to convert my .AVI file to DVD format, normally it outputs one file w/sound included. Well I had been having to use 2 DVDs because my file size would go from like 700mb to over 5g so I tried a different program this time (TPMsomething?) to limit the file size. Well this program allowed me to specify low resolution 4:3 ratio so I got the file down to just over 4g but strangely and I'm not sure if this was the program or the original input file, it separated the video file and the soundtrack to the movie. The soundtrack is in WAV format and my question is how can I (and what program should I use) to burn both the video and audio to a DVD so it will play normally in a DVD Player?

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  2. Do you mean AVS2DVD? Why not just reduce the video bitrate right there. TMPGenc makes great products but you don't need it here.

I meant I use AVS Video Converter to convert and then ImgBurn to burn but I'll try AVStoDVD, thanks

Or you can author the separate video and audio files from tmpgenc with for example the basic muxman or dvdauthorgui. They will make a working dvd/VIDEO_TS folder that you can burn with imgburn.

But avi to dvd conversion/authoring is not dvd ripping. MOving you to our dvd authoring section.

I really don't know why you want .wav since your "700MB AVI" file probably had low bitrate MP3 audio anyway and you don't get quality back when converting from MP3 back to .wav.

Probably because the old tmpgenc uses wav as default. You can choose mp2 audio also but better to use something else that has ac3 support like avstodvd.

Or just change the video bitrate in avs video converter and you will fit more/dvd...
