  1. Hi Folks-
Any advice about the best Free program to accept my VOB(I can convert if I have to) video and use a filter to remove
some audio distortion? Would love not to have to export the audio file and re-join afterwards if at all possible.

    Thanks Much,

    Steve F.

Distortion is rarely, if ever, removeable.

  3. And do it all without demuxing? Forget it.

There are VST plugins available for Audacity and other WAV Editors to remove clipping and try and restore the audio. I use the TWest Productions ReLife plugin for the job. If that's the kind of distortion you have.

  4. Thanks for the replies.
You can hear the audio it's just at the very top end of the voices there is a bit of "mechanical" sounding distortion like it's turned up to high. I thought perhaps running it through an Audacity noise reduction filter might help but, knowing my lack of intuition in these matters, tried to avoid the inevitable head scratching that would come from trying to export the audio and rejoin it after processing. Is any particular program more "idiot friendly" than another for this?

  5. Something wrong with Audacity?

The rejoining and putting back into the DVD is easy. First you gotta fix the audio, if possible. A short sample might help.

  6. Nice screenshot. I suppose youre right. I'll give it a shot that I can figure out how to export the audio file of a video into Audacity and then reattach it. Perhaps, I'll give a shout out if I get stuck.

    Thanks much for your help.
