    Hello

First of all, I am a total newbie to the world of SVCDs so please go easy on me. A friend suggested these forums since he found you guys really helpful and instructive.

I have 2 things I'd like to do:

    1. Convert all my 70-80 Divx movies to SVCD

    2. Now on, rip DVDs into SVCDs directly, not divx and then SVCD.

First of all, please help with the 2nd part. I ripped a DVD, used the Sefy's guide and Tmpgenc. Audio is fine but the fps is 23.xx fps and there are lines on the screen. How do I get the fps to be 29.97 fps? I used the 'Force film' thing in DVD2AVI as per Sefy's guide, that didn't help.

Another thing. Someone sent me a VCD and when i opened it in windows explorer, there were various folders in there. How can I get those folders? I thought that one burns SVCDs using Nero just like divx, that is to copy and paste the .mpg file onto the CD-R. Is that correct?

Please guide me with this and then I'll come back if I have questions on the divx->SVCD conversion process. Thanks.

  2. Well, actually the guide specificly does not use Force Film, but it is shown that you can use it as an option, so the reason you are getting 23.976 fps is because you are enabling Force Film.
