    Hi All,

    I am thinking of converting all my family video to HD. Before I get started, I would like to seek expert here for advice. Which format is best suited for Bluray ? What will be the Bluray authoring tool ?

    What format is your source for these family videos? Some formats shouldn't be converted to 1920x1080 but should be in standard definition resolutions.

    H.264 offers higher quality than MPEG-2 at the same bit rate. In general you should probably go with H.264 but in some circumstances I'm sure MPEG-2 would be fine.
