  3. Inkscape (better because it's vector based) - http://inkscape.org/showcase/index.php?lang=en

    Gimp - http://www.gimp.org/screenshots/

Both have all Paint's feature plus hundreds more, and allow plugins to extend their capabilities further.

What kind of bugs? Windows Paint is such a simple program, I'm surprised it has bugs. Do you really mean "lack of features" ?

Thanks Baldrick ( again ) and Transporterfan.

Budwzr : Let's see if I can explain ( my english! ): I use very much Paint to solve puzzles ( at this very moment I solve many Calcudokus). With WindowsXP, with the continuation of the saves, those Saves are saved with their icone more and more little. And from a time it says I must close any programs ( even if I haven't any open ) and I can't use the program never again. I can't even close the Paint. I must reinstall WindowsXP to recover the program . And this happens successively and after using the program several times.
Excuse me but I hope you understood my explanation.

Probably your working resolution is too high for Paint.

Budwzr - And if it's the resolution, is there any parameter in Paint I can use to reduce the resolution?

There should be some kind of "resize" function. I've never used Paint so I'll have to look, but there are three attributes to look for, the size in pixels, the physical size in inches, and the samples per inch (spi).

Update: It automatically resamples the image to 96spi when you open it, so that's not the problem(bug), it may be one of the other two attributes, which you cannot change. Are you saving to PNG? If not, try using PNG.

    Yes, I'm saving to PNG.

But I think the problem is a bug of Paint because for some time ( 30 or 40 times ) it performs well. But suddenly with the SAME diagram it stops the running. Looks like it accumulates something wrong !!! From this moment I can't turn out the Paint and I must reboot Windows.
After rebooting I can't use Paint no more.

That happens to me sometimes using Microsoft Digital Image Pro, when I save too many times. Maybe it is a bug, but it only seems to happen on the larger files, like more than 7200 pixels.
