Hi, I have a KM3608N DVD ( Audiosonic) player, but cannot play non-regional DVDs on it. I live in Australian (region 4) but have DVDs sent to me from overseas.
I've tried to Google a solution, but can't seem to find a code, as responses I've found don't relate to my player & remote. The unit didn't come with a manual (Not very expensive, but serves me well).

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for telling us that you are from Australia. That is really helpful as I will explain. If you bought your player from Australia or New Zealand, then contact the manufacturer's office in Australia and ask them to unlock it for you. Many companies will unlock players for the Australian or New Zealand markets based on laws that allow the practice.

Additionally, I did find the following web page which suggests 3 different methods.

The fact that there are 3 completely different methods suggested doesn't give me a lot of confidence that any of them will work, but maybe you will get lucky. If you do get it unlocked by yourself, would you mind posting back what worked?

    Hi jman98,
The link you supplied: I've already looked at that, and it's not relevant to the Help displays on the unit. I'll see if I can contact the Manufacturer.
    Many Thanks for your suggestion.

I'm not surprised at all that the link I provided was useless. When you have 3 wildly different suggestions it's very likely that none of them are actually correct.

We had a discussion recently about Australian law and I also found some internet links. Apparently Australian law ALLOWS manufacturers to produce or unlock DVD players (note that current trade agreements with USA have been said to NOT have any effect on this) but technically speaking they don't HAVE to. Most manufacturers have been reported in our forums to agree to unlock requests (one or two even offered to do it at no cost) but we did recently get a post that one manufacturer (I don't remember who it was) refused a recent unlock request and simply gave the requester a vague message that it might be possible to unlock the player, but they weren't going to tell how and doing so immediately voided their warrantly. Good luck. If I remember correctly the recent refusal was actually on a BluRay player (the requester asked for only DVD capability to be region free) so since you have just a DVD player that may work in your favor.
