  1. Hello! I have two problems..

『Well, the first problem is that I searched but I haven't found a way to amplify the sound of an .ac3 audio file while keeping all its channels. I tried Audacity but it says that all my channels will be reduced to just a single one! I wanna increase the volume of the ac3 but I obviously don't want to lose channels! Is there a way? (I would prefer it to be with a freeware program..)』=> SOLVED with post #11

And then, I have a VHS-rip's audio. The movie is no longer on the market with this particular dub for me to buy (DVD release came with a new dub) and I don't have the VHS anymore. I just have the audio in .mp3 format. This is a part of the movie that someone uploaded with the old dub: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cOV-FHYlGI

I think that my version is slightly better in quality, but only slightly..

Well, the audio is full of hisses.. Is there anything I can do to remove or reduce those somehow while not reducing the quality of the audio -which is already low as it comes from an old VHS- ? I don't care what program I have to use!!

My second problem is the most important for me to solve because it's about a movie from my precious childhood.. They ruined the movie with the new dub..
If you have time to help me with only one thing, please choose the second one..!!

With Groove Mechanic http://www.coyotes.bc.ca/GrooveMechanic.html you can filter out the hiss but you have to convert the audio to .wav first.
It cost 39 dollar but you can use it without restrictions for 15 days

maybe try normalizing the audio. a compressor might help along with some noise reduction. audacity may have all that, but i don't use it.

Isn't this plugin just so audacity can simply handle .ac3 files? I thought that without it .ac3 files cannot be input files either.. I already have this plugin installed so shouldn't it allow me to save my file while keeping the chennels?

OR, maybe I'm doing something wrong when saving my output file..!!! I just go to files -> export..

Should I go to files -> Export Multiple?? I haven't used this and if that's what I should use, then could you explain what I should do with the options there??

  8. The plugin is for import and export of AC3 files (and many other file types)

    File=> export

On the dropdown list "files of type" select "AC3 Files (ffmpeg) ", push the options button to select bitrate, it should then show you a channel map (by default it should map original channels)

  9. edit => preferences => import/export => use custom mix (for example to export a 5.1 multichannel file) => push ok

    then try it again

  10. THANKS!!!!!!! That was the problem!

As for my other problem, I found this thread https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/353415-help-About-the-Audacity-noise-removal-tool (it's recomended bellow as a similar one ) and hope that it works for me~

Either way, I will post again..
