  1. Ok, so somebody was kind enough to share a file with me, but that file is corrupt. They're kind of unwilling to do anything beyond sharing the file once.

    My question is if this is something I can repair myself, if it's in the original file, or if it's something that happened during their uploading it to a temporary file hosting site.

    Here's a video sample of the corruption(?).
    The original format of the video is .avi, but for the sake of clipping just a sample it ended up as .m4v. It's a .avi.

    Added a couple picture samples...

    Thanks to anybody for some help fixing it.

    P.S.
    I run a Mac and no, it's not a "Mac thing." :/

    Have you tried open it in an editor like mpeg streamclip or avidemux and see how it looks like or if they crashes?

    For some reason I can't get avidemux to open on my Mac. Got mpeg streamclip to open and ran the file through, but the messed up video persists. Do you think it's in the original video the person gave me? Something that got corrupted upon uploading? It'd be great if I could fix it some how.
