I've had a go at using Handbrake on a video from a DVD. The original is just over 600 mb, with the conversion being just over 100. I used the High Profile setting & made no other changes.
The original is 720x576, whereas the copy is 704x576. Is this normal? Should this have changed, & if not, what do I do to keep it with the original resolution?
Does this change affect the quality, as I want to keep my videos as close as possible to the originals?

It sounds like HandBrake has (automatically) cropped away some black borders/edges from the video.
Probably nothing to worry about.
If you don't want cropping, select Custom and make sure all values are set to 0.
A sample of original video (or screenshot) might help with troubleshooting if that is not the case.Last edited by mike20021969; 7th Jun 2013 at 04:53.
